One app measures your body. We never do.

The difference between an assessment and a character, said as plainly as we know how.

If you are comparing these two apps, you have probably noticed that they both end up showing you a picture of a body. What each one does to get there, and what it hands back to you afterwards, could hardly be more different.

Does ftns.ai scan or assess my body like Zing Coach?

No. This is the distinction that matters most on this whole site, and a twin that looks accurate is exactly what makes it easiest to blur.

Zing Coach's Body Scan estimates what your body is made of from two smartphone photos — a front view and a side view — and returns a report. The report is the product: it gives you figures, tracks them over time, and the training plan is built from them.

ftns.ai does none of that. It is a game in the Health & Fitness category. It is not a medical product, and it does not assess your body or report any measurement of it back to you — not what you are made of, not a percentage, not a grade for your shape. Your twin is a character that responds to game inputs: workouts logged, sleep synced, steps counted.

A model that looks like you is still not measuring you. If you want real information about your body, that comes from a professional, not from an app with a score in it.

None of which is a criticism of Zing. Tracking what your body is made of is exactly what a lot of people are looking for, and if it is what you want, an app that refuses to give you numbers is the wrong app. We are being explicit about which one we are.

What happens to the photos?

Both apps should be asked this, so here are both answers as plainly as we can give them.

Zing Coach: its App Store listing states that scan photos are promptly deleted for privacy. Check Zing's own privacy policy for the current position before you scan.

ftns.ai: photos are optional, and they are never stored. Your twin is built from your own metrics, so nothing in the app makes you upload anything. If you do add the posed shots during setup, they are processed in memory only, never stored on our servers, never used to train AI, and discarded the moment your twin is built. Your photos are private and never posted publicly.

Which means the answer to how do I delete my photos is that there is nothing to delete. Everything else — your profile, your logs, your twin, your scores — lives on your device, and Settings → Account → Delete everything removes it in one tap. The full version of that answer is here.

Who can see any of this?

Nobody, unless you show them.

There is no social feed, no friends list, no leaderboards and no follower count. There is no screen anywhere in the app where your twin appears next to someone else's, because there is no such screen to build one into. This is not a privacy setting you have to go and find. It is an absence in the product.

Sharing exists as exactly one thing: you export a score card or a Future Self image yourself, to wherever you choose, when you feel like it. The app never posts on your behalf.

Zing Coach's own marketing describes showing off workout streaks and challenging friends. That is a legitimate design choice and plenty of people want it. It is simply not one we offer.

What ftns.ai is not

Stated plainly, because the category invites the assumption:

  • Not a training-optimisation engine. The coach plans sessions. It does not estimate your one-rep max, do plate maths, model fatigue or periodise a block. Apps built for that do it better, and this post says so out loud.
  • Not a health intelligence. The .ai is a domain. Your coach is a game feature, and it makes no medical claims and promises no results.
  • Not a medical or assessment product. ftns.ai is a game in the Health & Fitness category. It doesn't diagnose anything, doesn't give clinical advice, and doesn't tell you what any of your numbers mean about your health.
  • Not social. No social feed, no friends list, no leaderboards, no follower count. Sharing means you export a score card yourself, to wherever you like, when you feel like it. The app never posts on your behalf.

What we will not do with a twin that looks like you

Ruled out in writing, because they are the obvious next moves:

  • No before-and-after framing. Two frames of the same accurate body, six months apart, is an advert. We do not make that image, in the app or in marketing. Nothing about your twin is ever unflattering.
  • No measurement interface over the body. No overlays, no percentages, no callouts on your twin. The moment a game character starts carrying figures, it stops being a character.
  • No public comparison, ever. Not at launch, not later.
  • Nothing sexualised. Twin generation runs under constraints that rule it out. The app is rated 16+ and that constraint does not relax at any age.

The longer version of this argument, including why the twin looks like you in the first place, is in your twin looks like you.

Then what is the point of a twin that looks like you?

Motivation, not information.

The bet of this whole category is that the closer the character is to you, the harder the consequence is to shrug off. A virtual pet drooping is a small pang. A character that is recognisably you, looking flat after three quiet weeks, is different information entirely — the same behaviour, reported by something you cannot hold at arm's length.

Future Self is where that pays off: your twin rendered across six horizons and three timelines — Current Pace, On Plan and Coasting — free, unlimited, and never behind gems. It is a game feature, not a forecast. It does not predict anything about your health, it guarantees nothing, and it does not tell you what will happen to your body.

So which one

  • Use Zing Coach if you want your body tracked and reported, form feedback from your camera, and a coach that programs your training from measurements.
  • Use ftns.ai if you specifically do not want an app reporting numbers about your body, you want the whole day to count rather than just the session, and you want the result to stay entirely private.

Put it this way. If the idea of an app estimating what you are made of makes you want the app, use Zing. If it makes you want to close the tab, that instinct is exactly what ftns.ai is built around.

Frequently asked questions

Does ftns.ai scan my body or estimate what it is made of?

No. ftns.ai does not scan, measure or assess your body, and it reports no measurement of you at all. It is a game in the Health & Fitness category, not a medical or assessment product, and it never tells you what any number means for your health.

What is the Zing Coach Body Scan?

Zing Coach's Body Scan estimates what your body is made of from two smartphone photos, a front view and a side view, and returns a report you can track over time. Its training plans are built from that assessment.

Is there a fitness app that does not measure your body?

Yes. ftns.ai builds a full-colour 3D character to your own proportions and never reports a measurement of you. Your twin responds to logged habits — workouts, sleep, steps, water, meals, mood — rather than to an assessment of your body.

Does ftns.ai need photos of me?

No. Photos are optional and your twin works from your metrics alone. If you do add the posed shots during setup they are processed in memory only, never stored on our servers, never used to train AI, and discarded the moment your twin is built. Your photos are private and never posted publicly.

How do I delete my photos and my data from ftns.ai?

There is nothing to delete where photos are concerned, because they are never stored. Everything else lives on your device: Settings → Account → Delete everything removes your profile, logs, twin and scores in one tap. It is permanent, so export anything you want to keep first.

Who can see my ftns.ai twin?

Only you. ftns.ai has no social feed, no friends list, no leaderboards and no follower count. Sharing means exporting a score card or a Future Self image yourself, and the app never posts on your behalf.

ftns.ai is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Zing Coach or Zing Coach Inc. Zing Coach details are drawn from publicly available sources as of 24 August 2026 and may have changed since. Spot something wrong? Tell us and we will fix it.
