Two digital twins, two big disagreements
Same core idea. Opposite answers on privacy and ranking.
There are now a few apps built on the same idea: make a character that is you, and let your real behaviour change it. Twinsi is one. We are another.
That we landed on the same core mechanic isn't suspicious — it's a good idea, and good ideas get found more than once. And on the first question in this category — should your twin actually look like you? — we agree. Both apps say yes. Both build a full-colour 3D model from you.
Where we split is on what happens next. Two questions, two opposite answers, and they are the whole comparison.
Question 1: Should other people see it?
Twinsi's answer: yes, increasingly so. Over 2026 they have shipped a friends feed, friend tagging on workouts, Crew Challenges for up to sixteen people, and sport-specific leaderboards. Their App Store listing notes frequent contests, in-app messaging, user-generated content and social media features, and it carries an 18+ rating.
Our answer: no. Not now, not later.
ftns.ai has no social feed, no friends list, no leaderboards and no comparative ranking anywhere in the product. Your tiers are personal badges. Your Life Score is yours. Nobody else's number appears anywhere in the app, because there is no anywhere for it to appear.
Sharing exists as exactly one thing: a share card you export yourself, to wherever you like, when you feel like it. The app never posts on your behalf. Your Future Self is shareable on the same terms — your call, every time.
We built the other one because of the people who quietly deleted a fitness app the week their streak became something other people could see. The full argument is here.
Question 2: Should your score rank you?
Twinsi's answer: yes. They introduced a Twinsi Score built from cardio and strength points, then added sport-specific leaderboards on top of it. By August 2026 their home screen was surfacing next-step suggestions including pushing for the top of a ranked list.
Our answer: no. Our Life Score is a single number with sub-bars for each life category, and it is only ever compared to your own history. There is no rank, no percentile, no top 1%. Progress is personal or it is not progress — it is a competition, and we would rather build the first thing. How the Life Score works.

The thing neither table row captures
Future Self.
Every app in this category can tell you where you are. We are the only one that shows you where you are heading. Six time horizons, three timelines — Current Pace, On Plan and Coasting — rendered as your twin, free and unlimited, never behind gems.
It's a game feature, not a forecast. It doesn't predict your health, guarantee anything, or tell you what is going to happen to your body. It shows you a version of your character built from the way you are currently playing. That turns out to be a much more motivating thing to look at than a chart. More on how it works.
Which one to pick
- Twinsi will suit you if you are primarily tracking workouts and you want friends, crews and ranked lists in the loop.
- ftns.ai will suit you if you want the wider slice of your life to count, you would rather your progress stay entirely private with nothing ranked against anyone, and you want to see where this is all going.
Same idea. Different answers. Pick the one whose answers you agree with.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ftns.ai and Twinsi?
Both build a full-colour 3D twin of you that reacts to your training. Twinsi adds a friends feed, crew challenges and sport-specific ranked lists; ftns.ai has no social layer and no ranking of any kind. ftns.ai also tracks a wider slice — sleep, food, water, mood — and projects your twin forward with Future Self.
Is there a digital twin fitness app without ranking?
Yes. ftns.ai has no social feed, no friends list, no leaderboards and no comparative ranking. Your Life Score is only ever compared to your own history, and sharing means exporting one share card yourself.
Does ftns.ai cost more than Twinsi?
Twinsi was listed as free with no in-app purchases on 20 August 2026. ftns.ai is free to play with an optional $4.99/month Premium that buys cosmetics only — every functional feature, including Future Self, is free.
Which digital twin app is better for privacy?
ftns.ai, by design rather than by setting: there is no social layer in the product for anyone to see your twin through. Twinsi has shipped friends and ranked features through 2026, which suits people who want accountability from other people.
