How to log a day in thirty seconds
The fastest path through the app, and the parts you can skip forever.
The most common reason a tracking habit dies is that logging takes longer than the thing being logged. So the target we designed against was thirty seconds for an ordinary day — and most of that budget goes on food, because everything else can fill itself in.
Here is the fast path, in the order it actually happens.
Before you open the app: two things are already done
If you connected Apple Health, steps and last night's sleep are in before you touch anything, and any workout your watch or another app recorded has already imported and de-duplicated itself. That is roughly half a typical day's log arriving without a keystroke.
If you have not connected Health, nothing breaks — those fields just wait for you. The trade is about ten seconds a day.
Food: say it instead of typing it
The single biggest time saver in the app. Tap the microphone and say the meal the way you would describe it to a person: "two eggs, toast and a coffee." It is transcribed on your device, split into items, and the macros compute themselves against targets generated from your own numbers, goals and pace.
- Say the meal out loud, in normal words.
- Glance at the items it split out and fix anything obviously off.
- Done — today's totals and any workout burn are already folded in.
Repeat meals are faster still: anything you eat often is a couple of taps from your own history, and you can add your own items once and reuse them forever.
Mood: one tap, and it counts
A single tap on the mood check-in feeds the Recovery and Mood categories of your Life Score, and it is the field people are most tempted to skip. It is also the one that makes the twin's reaction match how the day actually felt, which is most of the reason to bother at all.
What you can skip forever
None of it is required, and the app does not nag you into completeness. Plenty of people never touch half of this list.
- Measurements. Weight, muscle and circumferences are entirely optional. There is a short how-to right where you enter each one, and a caliper guide if you want it.
- Water, alcohol, caffeine. Useful if they are a thing you are working on. Invisible if they are not.
- Photos. Optional, and never stored. Your twin is built from your metrics alone.
- The whole workout module. If you only came for food logging, that works on its own.
Skipping a category does not penalise your score. The Life Score reads what you give it; an empty category is quiet, not red.
The one thing worth doing daily
Open it once. That is genuinely the whole discipline. One check-in a day, whenever suits you — there is no forced morning slot and no bedtime cut-off, and the reminder arrives in your twin's own voice rather than as a scolding from an app.
Miss a day anyway and nothing breaks: streaks, without the guilt covers exactly what happens.
